Working with Yvonne for the past two months has been an enlightening experience. This process becomes more complicated when the objective is building a modern/minimalist structure on a very tight budget. Prior to reaching out to Yvonne, I had read many articles and books professing to teach how to build a modern house on a ‘shoestring’ budget. I had even contacted the architects whose works were featured in those publications, only to find out that the actual costs were much higher than what the authors had publicized.Yvonne started by encouraging me to express my thoughts and objectives of my project and then attentively listened to all my concerns. She then proceeded to methodically guide me through each step of the process while helping me maintain the focus on the end result. To be sure, her method is slow and deliberate, but very liberating.
